Skate and Annoy Reviews
The reviews are back? What happened?
Let's see... We bought a fancy theme and started to transfer the static HTML version to the database, then we got hacked (and hacked...) If you remember that dark time, we eventually had to switch web hosts. In the mean time, there were a few major release versions of Wordpress, and ultimately that fancy paid theme stopped working, so old Kilwag started programing his own fancy theme. Then he somehow manageged to get a job and that fancy new theme languished. Kilwag was soon facing clinical CSS depression and an acute Javascript deficinecy, (type Jquery), so his web therapist said he should just get on with it because nobody would want to read reviews of 5 year old products. So... This is how it's going to look until the fancy theme is done. Time to start adding new reviews. Who wants to help?
Do it best electrical pliers and friction tape
I’ve been trying to head to my near-neighborhood small, independent hardware store as much as possible insteadof heading to one of the two big national chains nearby. The limited hours can be a little inconvenient, and the selection can be a little meager, but it’s not too bad. Of course if I go to Lowes [...]

Pure Fun Zine #10: 22 Year Anniversary
This is one I can really relate to. This history of Skate and Annoy is littered with the carcasses of missed self-imposed deadlines and delays due to “wanting to get things right.” Issue #10 of Pure Fun is the 22 Year Anniversary blow out. It’s almost 120 pages thick, printed on a nice almost semi [...]

Loaded Boards: Make You Smile
A while back I stumbled across some videos from these two jokers Adam Colton and Adam Stokowski, also known as Adam2. When I say jokers I mean that in a good way. These two clowns (again, in a good way) have made some interesting videos that often time border on the severely goofy. Lett’s face [...]

We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen
Hey, it’s fucking great! Here’s an attempt at a review. Do you want more? We Jam Econo: the story of the Minutemen is a great film. If you like the music you’ll probably enjoy this. Lots of performance footage. I never saw them live and was slow to pick up on their music but I [...]

Conspiracy Skateboards: Saikou
Saikou? What does it mean? I couldn’t tell you. I tripped over the name of their last DVD too. Not important anyway. There are four main parts to this DVD. The first is a Utah and Idaho tour dating back to 2005, the second is the late Fallen Wharehouse. The third is called Nuts and [...]

Merde Skateboards: Cigar Band
Width: 7.75 – 8.5 Length: 31.375 – 32.5 Wheelbase: 13.75 – 14.75 Sometimes a graphic can be so hideous or messed up that it can draw you to it like gawkers at a grisly highway accident. The graphic on this deck is one of those. On the surface it’s just a cigar band featuring a [...]

Pocket Pistols: Duane Peters Slalom Deck
Width: Yes Length: Yes! Wheelbase: Adjustable Slalom. I don’t know a damn thing about it. It came from the 70′s and it died in the 80′s, but somehow it’s making a comeback of sorts in this decade. (The 00′s?) In any case. Through a convoluted set of circumstances I found myself with a new slalom [...]

Hasil Adkins: Out to Hunch
At one point I was visiting a friend in Chicago. I (thought) I knew his address, and since I was arriving at 3:00 in the morning or so (must have been Greyhound) he said he woulfd leave the door to his apartment unlocked when he went to bed. When I finally made to the building [...]

The Sounds: Dying To Say This To You
I think the Sounds are confused. I know I am after listening to this record. First off, the cover looks like so much American Apparel softcore porn, which I guess is fine by itself but sort of out of context for the band. The first track makes it apparent that they are going to be [...]
